Passover the holiday that marks freedom and hope was celebrated by four communities in Progressive Poland’s Beit Polska in three wonderful settings. From the humble beautiful school room borrowed by Beit Trojmiasto (Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot), to a master chef’s restaurant for a new group under the leadership of Albert Katana in Beit Katowice to the most magical setting of a Pomaranczarnia in Warsaw for Beit Warszawa and Beit Konstancin!
Do you know what a Pomaranczarnia is?
Pomarańcz is an orange in Polish. Nobles could afford to build in-door gardens that were glassed in and warm during the winter and contained live plants such as warm weather citrus! Foundation Beit Warszawa is blessed by the support of Princess Irina Wittgenstein, a board member of the foundation, who arranged for this “secret in-door garden” in Warsaw to host a Passover Seder! It was magnificent. We thank her and bless her for her generosity and patience.
We don’t need to say more than we are grateful for the efforts of so many all over Poland and especially throughout Beit Polska, the recipient of Friends of Jewish Renewal in Poland. Friends of Jewish Renewal in Poland is pleased to receive your donations which are used to support the nine emerging Progressive congregations all over Poland. We seek to inspire you to support our work. We are excited to see the hope engendered by these communities and the six other communities that make up Beit Polska.
