Dr. Rosalind Capisarow presented trophy to Dominica Zakrzewska.
Dominica Zakrzewska won the Dragons’ Den award in London at the World/European Union for Progressive Judaism biennial conference April 15 to 17. This award was given for the best pitch of ideas/programs in front of an audience and two prominent “Dragons” Rabbi Andrew Goldstein and Dr. Rosalind Copisarow.
Each of the seven contestants were given 3 minutes to make their presentation. The pitch could propose a program or celebrate an implemented program. Rabbi David Mitchell of the West London Synagogue was the originator and moderator of the Dragons’ Den. Each presentation was given a three or four minute critique. Artur Olenski provided technical assistance to his wife, Dominica.

The winning prize was the 2016 Dragons’ Den Trophy and a 180 British pound prize.
Dominica Zakrzewska is a Ph.d. candidate in sociology and psychology at the Warsaw University. Each Shabbat Dominica leads the Shabbat Yachad program for children that was the subject of her presentation.
Here is the proposal for the Dragons’ Den that Dominica submitted:
SHABBAT GAM YAHAD
Project supports children and families from liberal Jewish movement, also those with interfaith background, to get proper Jewish education which would allow them to keep traditions but not exclude from their family life and social contacts. Family members of other denominations we want to acknowledge with Jewish traditions to understand it and respect. Second aim is to fight development of anti-semitism by cooperation with local state schools and educating teachers and pupils about Judaism, to overcome their fear towards it. Project based on 6-years experience of psychologists working in the field of intercultural education and 3-years field research.
