Across Europe, a Polish Parliamentarian, Grzegorz Braun, interrupted an academic lecture by a distinguished historian, Dr. Jan Z. Grabowski, rushing the podium, breaking the microphone, and destroying the speakers because the topic challenged his view of Polish history.[…]

Unbinding Isaac: Reclaiming Personhood Genesis 22

Genesis Chapter 22, The Binding of Isaac (Hebrew – Akedah) is the main Torah reading for Rosh HaShanah, the New Year observance. In Jewish tradition, the reprieve granted by the angel (messenger) of The Eternal (Y H W H) is often understood as a lesson to humanity to end child sacrifice. The association of the New Year with this reading of Akedah turns us to a hope for new life,[…]

Rozwiązanie Izaaka: Odzyskiwanie wymiaru osobowego; 22 rozdział ks. Rodzaju.

22 rozdział księgi Rodzaju – historia o związaniu Izaaka (hebr. akeda) – to główne czytanie Tory na Rosz HaSzana, obchody Nowego Roku. W tradycji żydowskiej ułaskawienie przez anioła (posłańca) Wiekuistego (J H W H) często rozumiane jest jako lekcja dla ludzkości, aby zaprzestać składania dzieci w ofierze. Powiązanie Nowego Roku z czytaniem historii o akedzie[…]
