The effort of the public means of communication to bring information to our screens also allows us to see the steps at inducing fear and misinformation that lead to hate and violence. This week the trial of the perpetrator of the violent attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh opened against a background of efforts to address anti-semitism led by the Biden-Harris administration. Across Europe, a Polish Parliamentarian, Grzegorz Braun, interrupted an academic lecture by a distinguished historian, Dr. Jan Z. Grabowski, rushing the podium, breaking the microphone, and destroying the speakers because the topic challenged his view of Polish history.
